The Macomb Bucks Lacrosse Club is focused on player development and preparation of our youth players for the high school game. Our goal is to provide our players with opportunities throughout the year to help build a foundation to excel at the high school and collegiate levels.
2019 OPPORTUNITIES & ELIGIBILITY
Players living in Macomb County or the surrounding area may request a position on our spring/summer teams. All players must be presently enrolled in a school in grades 1 through 8 however some exceptions can be made for younger players.
In 2018 we will host the following teams:
U8 (1st-2nd Grade), U10 (3rd-4th Grade), U12 (5th-6th Grade); and U14 (7th-8th Grade).
Boys spring team registration opens Thanksgiving week each year. Fees are $375/player for the U12 &U14 teams and $300/player for the U8 & U10 teams.
Assistance with payment of spring registration fees may be available for families in need. Please contact us regarding payment terms that may facilitate your athlete's participation.
Players are strongly encouraged to participate in our pre-season Winter Training.
Players must provide proof of registration with US Lacrosse valid through the calendar year to register for any of our programs ($25 online player registration)
Players must provide their equipment and purchase a team uniform which may be used from one season to the next. Returning U14 players may exchange their uniform shorts and jersey if in acceptable condition provided we have the needed size and appropriate jersey number. A list of required equipment can be found here.
Participation in our annual fundraiser event is requested of all families. To help us mitigate the cost of our spring and summer season offerings a fundraiser may be held. This may be an event or raffle and all are encouraged to do what they can to support our team by attending, volunteering, selling raffle tickets, or making a prize donation.
FIELD LOCATION, PRACTICES AND SCHEDULE
Our home field is Macomb Town Center Park (25 Mile & Broughton). We will practice during the week and have games for a total of 3-4 events/week throughout the season and will play in approximately 15-25 contests depending on the age level. Coaches will assess the skill level of our teams and those teams we will be playing and will look to schedule appropriate match-ups. Our teams will play single game days and also compete in regional and local tournaments where multiple games can be played in one day. The latter format is great for player development and is easier on our parents who have difficulty with weekday games across town. Most games will be played throughout SE MI in with higher level teams competing in tournaments as far as Chicago or Traverse City.
Spring practices will begin indoors in March and the season will end in June at the LaxJam (Cranbrook)
