The Macomb Bucks (Boys) and Macomb Machine (Girls) Lacrosse Clubs are focused on player development and preparation of our youth players for the high school game. Our goal is to provide our players with opportunities throughout the year to help build a foundation to excel at the high school and collegiate levels.
2018 OPPORTUNITIES & ELIGIBILITY
Players living in Macomb County or the surrounding area may request a position on our spring/summer teams. All players must be presently enrolled in a school in grades 3 through 8 for boys and grades 5-6 for girls (7-8 will be eligible in 2019 after a successful U12 team launch).
In 2018 we will host the following teams:
Boys teams: U10 (3rd-4th Grade), U12 (5th-6th Grade); and U14 (7th-8th Grade).
Girls teams: U12 (5th-6th Grade) [U14 to be added in 2019]
Boys spring team registration is underway. Fees are $325/player for the March-June season; $250/player for U10 level.
Girls spring/summer registration opens soon! Fees will be dependent on the number of contests we can schedule.
Assistance with payment of spring registration fees may be available for families in need including payment schedules. Please contact us regarding payment terms that may facilitate your athlete's participation.
Players are strongly encouraged to participate in our pre-season Winter Training.
Players must provide proof of registration with US Lacrosse valid through the calendar year to register for any of our programs ($25 online player registration)
Players must provide their equipment and purchase a team uniform which may be used from one season to the next. Returning players may exchange their uniform shorts and jersey if in acceptable condition and they are in need of a different size. A list of required equipment can be found here.
Participation in our annual fundraiser event is requested of all families. To help us mitigate the cost of our spring and summer season offerings and related equipment purchases, an annual fundraiser is held each year. The 2018 event will take place at a local golf course - planning will begin soon. While attendance at the event is not mandatory, all are encouraged to do what they can to support our team by attending the outing to play or volunteer, selling raffle tickets, or making a prize donation. The event will be a lot of fun and we hope to see you there!
FIELD LOCATION, PRACTICES AND SCHEDULE
Our home field is Macomb Town Center Park (25 Mile & Broughton). We will practice during the week and have games for a total of 3-4 events/week throughout the season and will play in approximately 20-25 contests per team. New teams with beginning players may play less games until play against more established teams can be scheduled. Our teams will play single game days and also compete in regional and local tournaments where multiple games can be played in one day. The latter format is great for player development and is easier on our parents who have difficulty with weekday games across town. Most games will be played throughout SE MI in with some teams competing in tournaments as far as Chicago or Traverse City.
Practices will begin indoors in March and the season will end in June at the LaxJam (Cranbrook)
